Mile Marker DETOUR Episodes

We're back with a new Detour! After an incredible RV Miles Homecoming, we're catching up on everything that's been happening in our world—and why we probably need to get better at taking a break.
We recap this year's Homecoming, our whirlwind family trip to Disney World for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Abby's ongoing battle with walking pneumonia, and the busy travel schedule ahead, including SEMA in Las Vegas and beyond.
Plus, we've got some exciting news! We're in the early planning stages of a possible RV Miles European river cruise, and we'd love to know if you'd be interested in joining us.
We also reflect on what made this year's Homecoming so special, share a little about what's coming next for our community, and talk about the challenge of balancing work, family, travel, and actually finding time to rest.
Let us know if you're interested in the river cruise by commenting on this episode on YouTube or at https://rvmiles.memberful.com.
Thanks for coming along on another Detour!

This week’s Detour is a little different—because our lives have taken a pretty major detour of their own.
We’re in the middle of a three-week run of Come From Away, with Abby onstage and Jason unexpectedly stepping in as stage manager just days before opening. We talk about the frantic race through tech week, the surprisingly complicated choreography of chairs and jackets, what it’s like to jump into a production already in motion, and how an incredibly stressful process turned into something pretty special.
We also dig into why this particular show has been so meaningful. Nearly 25 years after 9/11, audiences are still bringing their own memories and stories into the theater—and the emotional response after each performance has been remarkable.

This week, we Detour to the University of Iowa and share the emotional journey of moving Jack into his dorm room and what life has been like at home without him.

In this Detour (from episode 419) Abby begins rehearsals for Come From Away, and stumbles on a grocery store closeout of plants that have now been adopted by the Epperson family.

In this Detour, we talk about our oldest leaving the house in just a few weeks, and Abby shares about her conversation with Lippert regarding the recent ads we've been critical of.

In this Detour, we share the story of breaking into our RV because we couldn't get through the front door.

In this Detour, Jason discusses the difficult decision we've made - shutting down Parkography for the foreseeable future.

In this Detour, Abby's sharing her return from the Redwoods, which involved canceled and diverted flights and more. Plus, we found ANOTHER Lippert ad suggesting you ride in the back of a trailer.

In this Detour (from episode 410), we chat about the "RV Wingman" Alan Warren's hit piece on our buddy Josh the RV Nerd and recall our experience when he took us apart for being "out of control" influencers...

In this Detour (from episode 306), we decompress from the disappointing KOA Camping Report, chat about a big anniversary for the two of us, and commiserate about the rising cost of visiting a national park.
